Kcalbit is a lightweight toolkit to estimate your calorie needs (BMR & TDEE) and turn that into a practical daily target. It’s designed to be fast, transparent and privacy-friendly.

Who’s behind Kcalbit?

Hi, I’m Arjan de Vos, a freelance web developer. I built Kcalbit to make calorie planning simple without paywalls or spammy tricks. I’m not a doctor or dietitian—just someone who prefers clear math and plain language.

How the calculator works

  • BMR: Mifflin–St Jeor (Male: 10×kg + 6.25×cm − 5×age + 5, Female: 10×kg + 6.25×cm − 5×age − 161).
  • TDEE: BMR × an activity multiplier (1.2–1.9).
  • Targets: We add/subtract a safe daily adjustment based on your goal pace and cap extremes.

Content standards

  • Plain language: practical, short guides.
  • Safety first: sensible ranges and visible assumptions.
  • No hype: no miracle claims or “one weird trick”.
