How to weigh common foods quickly so logging isn’t a chore.
A kitchen scale removes guesswork. Here's a fast workflow.
Zero → add → zero
- Put your bowl on the scale, press tare (zero).
- Add food #1, note grams.
- Press tare again, add food #2, note grams.
Common items
- Dry rice: cook ratio ~1:2 (100 g dry → ~300 g cooked)
- Chicken breast: raw vs cooked weight differs (~15–20%)
- Oils/butters: measure in grams; calories add up fast
Use consistent entries in your app. Exact brands matter less than consistency.
Gear: digital kitchen scale.
